Team STX Clinic Summary
On Sunday October 16, 2016 the Saratoga Girl’s Lacrosse Booster Club hosted a hosted a clinic instructed by members of Team STX at the Saratoga PBA Fields from 1:30-5 pm. The event was the brainchild of and was organized by Nadine Burke, mother of Saratoga Springs High School sophomore lacrosse player Sophia Burke. The Team STX members Maggie Tamasitis, Brittany Brigandi and Cacki Helmer traveled from Amherst, Massachusetts and Syracuse New York, respectively, to run the clinic. Approximately 30 girls between 9-12th grade came out on a chilly, wet Sunday to attend the clinic and participate in a scrimmage. About 10-12 of the participants were lacrosse players from Shaker High School. The girls checked in, received STX stickers and lanyards and entered their names for 3 raffle prizes. The day started at 1:30 with a conditioning session given by YMCA personal trainer Jackie Orr. The girls then got to work with the Team STX members on drills that were fast-paced and fun. After a quick snack break, the girls then headed back out for a full field scrimmage. Players were mixed Shaker/Saratoga. It was competitive, fun play with two US Lacrosse umpires officiating the game. The sun eventually came out and girls ended the day with cider donuts, apples, cider and candy!
